A state in Malaysia, is known as the ancient city in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula. The state of Malacca covers an area of 1,650 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 870,000. Of these, 786,957 were Malaysian citizens, or 95.84%, and non-citizens, 34,153 or 4.16%.
In recent years, Malacca has received numerous international accolades. Malacca is a well-educated population. The youth literacy rate reported in the Millennium Development Goals Report 2015 is 99.5%. In 2016, Malacca became the safest place to live in Malaysia. Compared with 2016, the crime rate dropped by 15.5% in 2017. According to the National Socioeconomic Report on July 26, 2018, Malacca is the state with the lowest unemployment rate in 2017, only 1.0%. The town of Prosperity on the edge of Malacca, about 30 km north of the city of Malacca, has the only train station in Malacca. There are a number of bus companies providing daily bus services to and from Kuala Lumpur and Malacca, in the urban area of Malacca and from Malacca to other major towns in the country, as well as ferries. The Waze app recognizes the Malacca “Best Driving City” award. The city was also named 15 of the best street art cities by HuffPost.
In addition, the Times publications makes Malacca one of the most suitable places to live and retire. The urban area of Malacca is divided into new and old areas. The old district has some of the past glorious historical sites of Malacca, most of which are located in the city square and the fountain near the river, and are within walking distance. The new district is located on the other side of the Malacca River. Most of the buildings are built on land after reclamation. There are modern shopping centres such as MAHKOTA PARADE and a dining and entertainment area. Leaving the city center of Malacca, there are some beaches and small islands on the shore. There are many themed leisure parks in the Ai Le area close to the North and South Avenue.
